Sheep Gate

This gate represents salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross.

John 10:7-9 (NIV)

7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture.

  • Pray that the Lord will draw them to Himself.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us how to minister to those we know and love, who are lost. Help us Lord to be kind and compassionate, for it is your kindness that draws people to repentance.
  1. We want to be a church that continually prays for the lost souls of this community and all around the world.
  • Pray for those who will go out to share the Gospel in our community. Give us boldness to go out, loose us of any and all fear.
  • We declare that you, Lord, are a wall of fire around Tampa Bay, and nothing and no one will stop what you are doing in us and our city! We pray with confidence, knowing that the Lord hears our prayers.
    1. Pray for Revival to come to Tampa Bay:
    • Pray that this community will see the goodness of God and that the lost will be drawn to Him.
    • Pray for us and every other ministry in this region to be reignited with a burden for the lost. Matthew 5:16 (HCSB) In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

John 6:44 (MSG) 44 You’re not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge. He draws people to me – that’s the only way you’ll ever come. Only then do I do my work, putting people together, setting them on their feet, ready for the End.

  • Romans 8:26-27 (HCSB) In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. 27 And He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit’s mind-set, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
    • Pray that we will not grow weary in praying for the lost. Lord, help us to be like the widow in Luke 18 who refused to give up asking. We need perseverance.
  • Matthew 5:16 (MSG) 16 Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this   generous Father in heaven.
    • Lord, we are asking for a heart of intercession for the lost.
    • Pray for opportunities to minister to the lost. Lord, help us to recognize these opportunities in our day-to-day lives.
  •
    • Pray for the redemption of our unsaved loved ones.  Lord, bring them closer to you. Let them know of your love and your mercies. Let the Holy Spirit convict them so that they may repent and follow your ways.
    • Pray that their spiritual eyes and ears will open to see and hear what the Lord is doing and saying.
  • 1Timothy 2:1-4 (HCSB) First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  1. Pray for our lost family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors:
  • The Sheep Gate reminds us of His sacrifice. Jesus, the Lamb of God, the ultimate sacrifice, who takes away the sins of the world. “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

In many ways, the Sheep Gate represents our salvation. Salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. The Sheep Gate had no bolts or bars. Salvation is freely available to everyone who believes and puts their faith in Him.
