Biblical Precedent: The Threefold Anointing
Throughout Scripture, prophets, priests, and kings operated in distinct yet complementary roles within God’s covenantal order. Each office represented a dimension of divine authority and function:
- Prophets – The Voice of God
- Prophets carry divine revelation, calling the people back to God and speaking His word.
- They operate in vision, correction, and direction, ensuring alignment with God’s will.
- Example: Samuel anointed both Saul and David as kings (1 Samuel 10:1; 16:13), and Elijah confronted kings to restore righteousness (1 Kings 18)
- Priests – The Mediators of God’s Presence
- Priests are called to intercede and maintain the people’s covenantal relationship with God.
- They ministered in the tabernacle and temple, offering sacrifices and teaching the Word.
- Example: Aaron and the Levitical priesthood, maintaining worship (the fires of the altar) and purity before God (Leviticus 9).
- Kings – The Rulers govern Regions/States/Nations
- Kings govern with resource and dominion, ensuring order and justice in the land.
- They were called to lead under God’s authority, executing His decrees.
- Example: David, a king after God’s own heart, ruled with justice and established worship in Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5:3-5).
The Convergence: A New/Old Kingdom Order : Whenever these three offices align, major shifts occur in the spiritual and natural realms. Today, the Lord is uniting these anointings to restore His kingdom rule in our region and city.
The Lord is calling for:
- A Prophetic Awakening – The church is hearing and declaring God’s voice with clarity, exposing deception and realigning people to divine purpose (Amos 3:7 NASB 1995 7 Surely the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets).
- A Priestly Revival – A resurgence of intimacy with God, prayer movements, real unity and holiness is preparing the way for His glory to manifest (Malachi 2:7 NASB 1995 7 For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.).
- A Kingly Authority – Believers are rising in spiritual governance, reclaiming dominion over culture, business, and nations (1 Peter 2:9 NASB 1995 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;).
Jesus himself is our Example: The Ultimate Fulfillment/Embodiment
- As Prophet, He declared the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:18-19).
- As High Priest, He made atonement for sin (Hebrews 4:14-16).
- As King of Kings, He reigns with all authority (Revelation 19:16).
What This Means for Us Today :
The Lord is raising up a people who walk in prophetic revelation, priestly intercession, and kingly authority. This alignment prepares the church for reformation and lasting revival.
The union of these three offices will releases a kingdom movement, a new season of divine governance and Holy Restoration that reflects Jesus’ ultimate rule through His church.
12 “Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; 13 And rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil. 14 Who knows whether He will not turn and relent
And leave a blessing behind Him, Even a grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God? 15 Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly,
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room And the bride out of her bridal chamber. 17 Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, Weep between the porch and the altar, And let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not make Your inheritance a reproach, A byword among the nations. Why should they among the peoples say, ‘Where is their God?’” 18 Then the Lord will be zealous for His land And will have pity on His people. 19 The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I am going to send you grain, new wine and oil, And you will be satisfied in full with them; And I will never again make you a reproach among the nations. ~ Joel 2:12-19 NASB 1995
Do not fear, O land, rejoice and be glad, For the Lord has done great things. 22 Do not fear, beasts of the field, For the pastures of the wilderness have turned green, For the tree has borne its fruit, The fig tree and the vine have yielded in full. 23 So rejoice, O sons of Zion, And be glad in the Lord your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has poured down for you the rain, The early and latter rain as before. 24 The threshing floors will be full of grain, And the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil. 25 “Then I will make up to you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 “You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; Then My people will never be put to shame. 27 “Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am the Lord your God, And there is no other; And My people will never be put to shame. ~ Joel 2:21-27 NASB 1995
28 “It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. ~ Joel 2:28 NASB 1995
