Wednesday Night Prayer June 25, 2025

Fish Gate 

This gate represents the call on our lives as Christians to share the Gospel with others. We are ambassadors for Christ to the world around us. This gate during Nehemiah’s time, it was used by fishermen to bring their catch into the city to be sold. The Fish Gate reminds us that we are to get involved in sharing the Good News because we have been called to be “fishers of men”. 

1st Prayer Points: Pray that we will be a people who obey quickly when the Lord prompts us to share the Gospel.

  • Lord, we are thankful for Your salvation. Thank you for investing your one and only Son so we could be saved. Help us invest in the people you bring into our lives.

John 3:16 (HCSB) For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

  • Lord, thank you for empowering us with the grace to invest in others, help us to be quick to obey like Peter and Andrew did.

Matthew 4:18-20 (HCSB) As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

Psalms 128:1 (NIV) Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him.

  • Pray for Holy Spirit to give us courage and an unquenchable desire to share the Gospel.

Romans 1:16 (MSG) It’s news I’m most proud to proclaim, this extraordinary Message of God’s powerful plan to rescue everyone who trusts him, starting with Jews and then right on to everyone else!

  • Pray that we will win more souls for His Kingdom in 2025 than ever before.

2nd Prayer Points: Pray that we will be a people who shine bright for Jesus and are being watchful for God moments in every aspect of our lives.

  • Pray for us to have a heart for evangelism, no matter what mountain of influence we occupy. We want to be a light that shines for Jesus in every area of our culture.

Matthew 5:14-16 (HCSB) You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 9:37-38 (HCSB) Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

  • We decree Isaiah 61:1, that the Spirit of the Lord God is on us and that He has anointed us to bring good news to the poor. He has sent us to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom to the prisoners because of the work He did on the cross through Jesus.

  • Pray that we will go throughout our days being watchful for opportunities to share the Gospel.
  • Wake us up, Lord! Help us to stay alert.

Colossians 4:2-6 (MSG) 2 Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude. 3 Don’t forget to pray for us, that God will open doors for telling the mystery of Christ, even while I’m locked up in this jail. 4 Pray that every time I open my mouth, I’ll be able to make Christ plain as day to them. 5 Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don’t miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity. 6 Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.

3rd Prayer Points: Pray for a heart that longs to see the Tampa Bay area transformed.

  • Lord, we recognize that we (The Crossing Church) are your workers, and you are sending us into the harvest fields of Tampa Bay.
  • Pray that the local churches will continue to unite as one to win this region for the Kingdom of God.

John 17: 21-23 (HCSB) May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. 22 I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one. 23 I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.

  • Pray that we would be baptized in the Holy Spirit and operate in the gifts of the Spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 (HCSB) A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial: 8 to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit, 9 to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of languages, to another, interpretation of languages.
  • Pray that we would receive words of wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement as we share the Gospel in this region. We believe that just like the word of knowledge Jesus gave the Samaritan woman ended up transforming that region, when we share what Holy Spirit is saying to us, the Tampa Bay region will also be transformed.

John 4:39- (HCSB) 39 Now many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said when she testified, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 Therefore, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of what He said. 42 And they told the woman, “We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”

  • Pray that we would be like the Samaritan woman who went back to her community and invested in the people there by inviting them to meet Jesus.
  • We thank you in advance for a harvest of souls, for a great revival in the Tampa Bay area.

4th Prayer Points: Pray for our lost family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors: 

1Timothy 2:1-4 (HCSB) First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

  • Pray for the people whose names have been placed in our Salvation Boxes at every campus.
  • Pray for the redemption of our unsaved loved ones.  Lord, bring them closer to you. Let them know of your love and your mercies. Holy Spirit, we ask that you convict them and that they repent and follow your ways.
  • Pray that their spiritual eyes and ears will open to see and hear what the Lord is doing and saying. 
  • Pray that the Lord will draw them to Himself. 

John 6:44 (MSG) 44 You’re not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge. He draws people to me – that’s the only way you’ll ever come. Only then do I do my work, putting people together, setting them on their feet, ready for the End.

  • Pray for Holy Spirit to reveal to us how to minister to those we know and love, who are lost. Help us Lord to be kind and compassionate, for it is Your kindness that draws people to repentance.
