Victorious Living |Week 3 | Overcomer Series

Living the victorious Christian life is not about us powering up, it is about allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us into victories.

14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ~ Romans 8:14 NASB1995

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. ~ 2 Corinthians 2:14 NASB1995

To lead a victorious Christian life outwardly we must first lead one inwardly.

We must become more like him (you become what you behold)

15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.1 John 4:15-17 NASB1995

Overcoming is not about powering up to defeat the darkness within me. It is about surrendering to the Holy Spirit as he exposes, corrects and removes the darkness from us.

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete. ~ 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 AMPC

23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. ~ Proverbs 4:23 NASB1995

The only way to overcome inwardly is to allow the Overcomer (Holy Spirit) to expose, correct and remove the darkness with in us. By replacing it with his light.

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. ~ 1 John 3:2-3 NASB1995

Process of beholding: expose, correct and remove

Expose: Spiritual Freedom

Correct: Renewing of the mind

Remove: Change of behavior

The path of the victorious Christian life is less of you and more of him.

15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:15-17 NASB1995

Words of Knowledge

  • We believe the Lord wants to heal someone who is suffering with a chronic urinary infection.
  • We believe we heard that there is a son who has given up on having a relationship with his father because of past hurts and misunderstandings. We believe we heard the Lord saying that if you call your dad and let him know that you love him and ask him to forgive you for separating yourself from him, that the Lord is going to restore this relationship. Holy Spirit will lead you in what to say and because you are willing to take the first step, your dad will also repent and ask for your forgiveness. We believe the Lord is saying that your relationship is going to be better than it ever has been before.
