Days 1-4: During these first four days let’s seek the Lord for direction and guidance for the relationships in our lives. Part of His promised provision for us is to be reconciled to Him and to bring the message of reconciliation to others. 2Corinthians 5:17-21 (HCSB) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Our relationship with the Lord: We want to draw closer to you Lord than ever before. Reveal your love for us in new ways Father. Search our hearts Lord and renew a right spirit within us, show us if there is any unforgiveness or sin that we need to lay at your feet. Reveal the things that we need to set aside in order to walk in Your promised provisions for our life. We want to know you more this year.
- James 4:8 (HCSB) Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, double-minded people!
- Psalms 63:1(HCSB) God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.
- Jeremiah 29:12-13 (HCSB) You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Our relationships with others: Holy Spirit, we are asking that you give us clear direction as we assess our relationships with others. We are asking that you bring healing to the ones that need to be restored. We know that you are the God of reconciliation. Help us to maintain and flourish in all the ones you want us to be in. And Lord, if you are leading us to build any new relationships this year we are asking for your direction and favor. Help us Lord to step away from any unhealthy relationships we may be in, give us courage and strength.
- 1Peter 4:8 (HCSB) Above all, keep your love for one another at full strength, since love covers a multitude of sins.
- John 13:34 (HCSB) “I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another.
- Matthew 6:14-15 (HCSB) “For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well. 15 But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.
- Exodus 20:12 (HCSB) Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- Ephesians 6:1-3 (HCSB) Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother -which is the first commandment with a promise- 3 that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.
2Corinthians 5:17-18 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
